Andrew Bleckner studied composition with George Crumb at the University of Pennsylvania, where he earned a Ph.D. in composition in 1996. His music has been commissioned by Singing City, the Dale Warland Singers, Westminster Choir College and the Virginia Beach Symphony, and performed by the American Composers Orchestra and the Civic Orchestra of Chicago.
